National Institutes of Health: Secondary Analyses in Obesity, Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Dise
The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and the Office of Dietary Supplements invites applications to support the secondary analysis of existing data sets relevant to diabetes and endocrine and metabolic diseases; digestive diseases and nutrition, including obesity and eating disorders; and kidney, urologic, and hematologic diseases. The goal of this NIDDK program is to facilitate research that explores innovative hypotheses through the use of existing data sets. [GrantsNet Funding News]
National Institutes of Health: Solicitation of Assays for High Throughput Screening (HTS) in the Mol
The National Institutes of Health Molecular Libraries Roadmap Initiative wishes to encourage High Throughput Screening assay applications from investigators who have the interest and capability to work with the Molecular Libraries Probe Production Centers Network for chemical probe development. This funding opportunity announcement promotes discovery and development of new chemical probes as research tools for use by scientists in the public and private sectors to advance the understanding of biological functions and disease mechanisms. 09May Exploratory/Developmental Grant open for application
The grant call, 09May Exploratory/Developmental Grant, is now open for application.[Biomedical Science: RSS Open Grant Call (BMS)]
Please note that the RITAS on-line submission is for EDG only. NIG application is to be submitted using NMRC application template through the research offices. (NIG application template is available for download from nmrc.gov.sg)
The objective of this grant scheme is to encourage investigators who wish to conduct exploratory research.
Exploratory research is characterized as preliminary work on untested and novel ideas; ventures into emerging research ideas; the application of new expertise or new approaches to "established" research topics. The outcomes of such research projects will hopefully be developed subsequently into larger research grant proposals like the Individual Research Grant (IRG).
The shorter duration, compared to the IRGs, is due to the nature of such preliminary studies. The grant applications must be in the domain of translational and clinical research. Applications for research in basic science will not be accepted.
Each project is capped at $200,000 and for 2 years.
The closing date of the grant call is 03-Jun-2009 05:00 PM.
