Most agencies require an electronic submission. If you are applying for a grant that does not require an electronic submission, be sure to get hard copies of the forms and ALL the instructions.
For electronic submissions...
- Get the required electronic registration (you need to do these sequentially):
-Get a DUNS number
-Register with CCR.gov
CAGE code , MPIN, and ePOC username and password
-Register with Grants.gov
user name and password
-Register with the appropriate agency specific submission site, if applicable:
NSF: Fastlane
DTRA: DTRA
DOE: e-center
ARPA-E: Fedconnect
NIH: Commons
-Triple check your passwords and access BEFORE the due date!
- Rough specific aims
- Get the pdf submission form and familiarize yourself with the pieces (it is large and complicated)
